- The firmest dates are deadlines: Claude Sonnet 4.5 and OpenAI's Agent Builder shut down November 30, Gemini 4 Argon's API price doubles to $4/$20 on December 1, and OpenAI retires GPT-5 and o3 snapshots on December 11, per the companies' docs checked October 20, 2026.
- Events: Microsoft Ignite runs November 17–20 in San Francisco, AWS re:Invent November 30–December 4 in Las Vegas, and NeurIPS 2026 December 8–13 across Sydney, Atlanta and Paris. The EU AI Act's new bans and a marking deadline land December 2.
- No frontier lab has announced a dated model launch for November or December. The Anthropic IPO timing (marketing from the week of November 9) is Bloomberg's reporting, not a company announcement.

Looking for upcoming AI launches in November 2026? The honest answer is that the dates you can count on are mostly deadlines, not debuts. As of October 20, 2026, no major lab in frontier models has announced a dated model launch for November or December. What is on the calendar: model retirements, price increases, an EU AI Act deadline, three big conferences, and a reported Anthropic IPO window.
This calendar lists only items with a source: a company page, an official document or a named news report, each re-checked October 20, 2026. Each line says whether the date is confirmed or reported, and links to our coverage. For the news of October 12–18, see The Week in AI #4.

Two notes on November. The Anthropic IPO dates come from people Bloomberg spoke to, who said plans are fluid; Anthropic hasn't announced a date, a price or an exchange, and as of our October 20 check no public S-1 was on the SEC's EDGAR system. And Character.AI itself only says the sale is expected to finish "by the end of November or perhaps early December 2026," according to its October 12 blog post.

Which AI models are launching in November and December?
None with an announced date. As of October 20, 2026, OpenAI, Anthropic and Google haven't published a release date for any new frontier model in this window:
- OpenAI hasn't announced GPT-7. The Information reported on October 13 that OpenAI is fixing safety issues before shipping its next flagship, without a date. Details are in our GPT-7 explainer.
- Anthropic hasn't announced Claude 6. Reuters reported on September 18 that it is considering a new model to counter GPT-6 Astra. A Fable 5.5 listing briefly appeared in Azure's model catalog, according to the leak-tracking site TestingCatalog, but Anthropic hasn't confirmed it. See our Claude 6 explainer.
- Google made Gemini 4 Argon generally available on October 13. Its next announced change is the December 1 price rise, not a new model.
The one dated open-weight release we found is Nvidia's Nemotron 3.5 Bolt E4B on October 23.
What did we leave off, and why?
- Rumored model dates from leak accounts, "release date" pages and betting markets. None cites a company announcement.
- Retirements with only a "not sooner than" date, such as Claude Opus 4.5 (not before November 24, 2026). Anthropic hasn't set the actual day.
- OpenAI's Private Inference preview, which OpenAI said is "coming this fall" at DevDay on September 29 without a date.
- Siri AI on HomePod mini 2, which Apple says will come "in a future software update," with no date.
What's confirmed, reported and uncertain
- Confirmed (company or official pages): every row marked "Confirmed" above, re-checked October 20, 2026.
- Reported: Anthropic's IPO window (Bloomberg). Character.AI's sale timing is the company's own expectation, not a court date.
- Calculated: the San Francisco moratorium's end date: about November 20 if counted from the October 6 vote, or November 30 from the October 16 signing. Reports differ on which applies.
- Uncertain: whether any lab launches a new frontier model in the window, and whether the IPO and sale dates hold.
